John Malkovich has made a film due to be showcased (but not shown, crucially), at the Cannes Film Festival – the contents of which is a secret not to be revealed until 2115.
In one whole century, on November 18 2115 – which doesn’t even look like a real date – a safe will open, automatically revealing the film within it. If there are any humans left they’ll probably be massively underwhelmed, but that doesn’t make the concept any less cool.
100 Years: The Movie You Will Never See, which in case you need reminding you will never see, is partly based on the film’s stars imagining the world in 100 years.
The film is going on a tour around the world locked in a safe, with stops including Los Angeles, Tokyo, Hong Kong, London and New York.
After the world looks at this safe – because let’s face it, that’s all it will be – the film will be locked in the cellars of Louis XIII Cognac until most people reading this are six feet under.
