The Voice contestant Paul Phoenix was yet another familiar face hoping the talent series would give him one more crack at fame.
The 55-year-old sang Adele’s Chasing Pavements before the all-star line-up of US artist will.i.am, Boy George, Ricky Wilson and Paloma Faith, but no one turned their chair for him.
Formerly a member of Love City Groove, Paul tasted life as a pop star when his group represented the UK at the Eurovision Song Contest in 1995 with their self-titled top 10 hit.
They finished in 10th place with 76 points.
Paul took a break from the music industry after a brain haemorrhage in 2002. Viewers posting on Twitter agreed with the no-turns.
