Duncan Honeybourne will be back at The Lion Ballroom in Leominster on Sunday with a rich programme of romantic piano music, including works by two arch-rivals, Liszt and Thalberg, together with one of the great works in the piano repertoire from the period, Schumann’s Fantasy in C, op 17, composed in 1836. Duncan recorded this work together with Schubert’s B flat sonata, D960 and the Liszt transcription for piano of Schumann’s ‘ Widmung from his song cycle Myrthen (Myrtles). It was recorded in the Lion Ballroom and will be available at the concert.
Duncan needs little introduction to Ballroom audiences for his virtuoso performances of a wide range of repertoire, which also includes some lesser-known British composers of the 20th century, and for his harpsichord recitals,
