I AM aware that I am a very small fish in a large pond, but I am confident I speak for a very high proportion of people in this area when I say Tenbury Wells desperately needs a supermarket of size and substance to come to the town.

With respect to Tenbury Futures and other objectors to a supermarket, I feel they should wake up and see that a very large percentage of Tenbury people are already, and have for a long time, been doing their monthly shop at nearby supermarkets, thus saving pounds each month.

Tenbury town on some days, even before the bridge closure, can often look quite empty and deserted, so if you should wish to bump into Tenbury people, then go to any nearby supermarket on any day of the week, park free, and find them doing their shop and that includes shop workers from Tenbury and even shop owners.

Why should the aged and people without transport be forced to pay through the nose for their monthly needs – some items can dearer in Tenbury shops.

Before it’s too late, Tenbury needs a supermarket to put people and life back into the town, before more shops close. Many local businesses would without doubt benefit greatly from the surge of people a supermarket would bring and that in turn would bring people back.
