Tenbury wrestler Jake Gittens prepares for Hereford show at Richmond Club on April 22

HOMETOWN wrestling hero Jake Gittens praised his Tenbury fans after failing to win the British title.

Jake, who is known in the ring as ‘The Rockstar’ Cupid Valentino, says people in Tenbury are falling in love with wrestling.

“Although I did not win the title in my hometown it was great to have the support of the community and everyone who came along,” said Jake.

“It was a great show and everyone I have spoken to said they had enjoyed it,” he said.

“I can see that wrestling is popular in Tenbury and I am sure it will be returning in the future.”

‘The Rockstar’ had the 100-strong audience on their feet after he beat Maddog Maxx in the opening contest at Tenbury High School.

But Jake was beaten later in the show when he was sent crashing through tables in a ladder match for the British title.

Birmingham’s ‘The Superstar’ Carlos walked away with the title.

Ironfist Wrestling thanked everyone who supported the night. Their next show takes place at Hereford’s Richmond Club on Sunday, April 22. More details are available on the Ironfist Wrestling Facebook page or by calling Jake Gittens on 07540 696297.
