West Malvern 223-2 Cleobury Mortimer 184-6.

CLEOBURY saw visiting West Malvern post a sizeable total in Division 5 of the Worcestershire League after being put in to bat.

After a good start to their innings, Cleobury were forced to hang on for a losing draw in the latter stages of the game.

An opening partnership of well over 100 between Steve Wright (107) and Tony Williams (76) set Malvern on the way. Darren Taylor and Ben Griffiths shared the wickets.

Missing key batsmen, Cleobury needed a good start and Steve Shorter (36), Craig Shorter (62) and Griffiths (32) did exactly that.

Once they were out, however, the middle order got their heads down to finish up on 184-6, 40 runs short.
