THE punishing temperatures failed to stop Malvern’s endurance athletes from prevailing in recent weeks.

Eva Holden, 10, showed grit and determination to come fourth in the Lucton Junior Triathlon, fifth at Cholmondeley Castle and fourth at Bowood House Tri Stars.

Youth members Abigail Prosser Alice, Joe and Ben Maddock, James Robinson, Lucas Dutton, Finlay Skene and William Massey took part in the fourth round of the Tewkesbury Tri Star Series. Robinson came second and Prosser Alice first in their age groups.

In the adult events, Johnathan Sage competed in the Bowood Triathlon and Bournemouth’s salty dog triathlon.

Wayne Gualter tackled the Outlaw middle distance triathlon while Vikki Sivertsen and Henry Walker entered the Festival of Endurance at Hever Castle, Kent.

Sivertsen delivered her middle distance in a time of 6 hours 17 minutes 48 seconds, coming fourth in her age group.

Walker finished the long distance event in 11.31.41 to come fourth in his age group and fifth male overall.

Elsewhere, Maria Dineen completed the two-mile Cotswold open water swim in 1.01.30 to come second in her age group.

Lorraine Brooks and Clive Brooks did the Velothon Wales closed road cycling event over 93 miles in 6.46.
