LUDLOW made hard work of seeing off basement side Old Saltleians in their penultimate match of the season.
Fifth-placed Ludlow were first on the board through Lawrence Hughes but the visitors responded with a try out wide, which was converted to put Salts 7-5 up.
A Will Sparrow penalty gave Ludlow a slender half-time advantage but Salts regained the lead early in the second half as their fly-half fielded his own kick ahead to touch down.
Ludlow went back ahead with the try of the match, Sparrow sidestepping several Salts players to dot down under the posts with the conversion making it 15-12.
Sparrow sealed the win late on with an unconverted try in the corner for Ludlow, who host Spartans in the final game of the season this Saturday.
