SHAWBURY’S survival hopes suffered a blow as they conceded twice in the dying stages to blow a 2-0 lead at basement side Rocester.

Liam Taylor played Sean Evans in to slot Shawbury in front in the first half and Keanu Cooper doubled the lead after the break.

However, Rocester scored twice in the last four minutes to leave third-bottom Shawbury two points from safety, although they do have a game in hand on the side above them, South Normanton Athletic.

Shawbury were set to host Boldmere St Michaels last night in the first of four huge home games in their relegation fight.

United entertain Rocester in the second of a quickfire double header on Thursday, before welcoming lower mid-table pair AFC Wulfrunians and Loughborough University on Saturday and next Wednesday respectively.

Meanwhile Church Stretton's fine run of form continued as they claimed a win over fifth-placed Warstone.

Jordan Wells headed them in front before Warstone levelled.

However, Dean Richards controlled a wonderful 50-yard Jones pass to thump Stretton back ahead and a Warstone own goal put the result beyond doubt.
