SHAWBURY United remain rooted to the foot of the Midland Football League after they lost 2-0 at Sporting Khalsa, a goal in each half easing the home side to victory.

Dave Richards’ side are without a game on Saturday and are next in action at Long Eaton United on September 30.

Church Stretton lost 2-1 at home to AFC Broseley in Division Two of the West Midlands League and will be hoping to bounce back at AFC Wednesbury on Saturday. League rivals Ludlow travel to Wonder Vaults on the same day.

Clee Hill United continued their excellent start to the Sportsjam Shropshire League Premier Division season as they eased to a 5-1 win at previously unbeaten Prees. A brace from Craig Breakwell led the way with the other goals coming from Joshua Carpenter, Steven Preece and Liam Whitbread.

But elsewhere in the division there was disappointment for Craven Arms Town who are still without a point after losing 2-1 at home to Shrewsbury Juniors while Brown Clee’s Division One match with Madeley Sports Reserves was postponed.

In Division One of the Herefordshire League, Woofferton ran out 3-1 winners at Hereford City. Luke Pugh broke the deadlock in the first half with Dan Gower and Dean Harding adding to the tally before the home side hit a consolation ten minutes from time.

A Kieran Hollis goal was scant consolation for Orleton Colts Reserves as they were beaten 6-1 at Holme Lacy Reserves while Ludlow Colts with Fownhope Reserves was postponed.

Mark Griffiths and Toby Siveter were on target for Norbury in a 2-0 victory away to Harlescott Rangers in Division One of the Shrewsbury & District Sunday League.
