COMPLETED first-team fixtures were in short supply on a rain-affected weekend but Tenbury emerged with a seven-wicket success over Worcester III.

Aaron Morris (4-14) was the hero once more, registering the best bowling figures as Worcester were limited to 58 all out. Amaan Ibrar (14) and Chris Fletcher (20) were the only men to hit double figures in a meagre innings.

Morris suffered a rare blip with the bat with the opener seen off for six by Matt Greenwood (2-22) as Worcester attempted to prevent the inevitable, only for Andrew Adams (23), Paul Higgins (10*) and captain Zack Yarranton (16*) to bring up a total of 61 for three.

In Shropshire Division Two, Church Stretton’s struggles continued in a seven-wicket defeat at Willey.

The visitors were put in to bat and despite the best efforts of Andrew Chapman (15), Rob Whittall (13) and Ben Crump (12), they failed to find any meaningful momentum.

Jonathan Wood’s unbeaten 30 and 16 for Adam Groom nudged Stretton as far as 119 for seven but their total was beaten in little more than 20 overs.

Stuart Sheperd (38), Nathan Garbett (22), Harry Thomas (16) and Glenn Edwards (24*) sealed their fate as Willey finished with 122 for three.

In Shropshire Second XI Division Two, Ludlow II were left frustrated by the rain against their Condover counterparts.

A whopping 135 from Mark Porteous inspired a strong total of 226 for five at The Burway with Jayden Burnley (2-13) and Scott Kemsley (3-17) putting the hosts well on course for victory.

Condover could not muster more than 10 runs from any individual and were 42 for five from 18 overs when the weather saved them.
