TENBURY United’s youngsters have been kitted out with new tracksuit tops and jackets thanks to a grant from Kingspan Insulation Community Trust.

The club’s youth structure has a player pathway for children aged from seven to 17 to encourage talent to progress through the ranks as well as engaging in and enjoying physical activity.

And while the summer months are upon us now, Tenbury’s stars of the future face the prospect of training in wet and windy weather so the new kit, paid for by £2,825 worth of funding, will help them through the rigours of winter.

United’s Lesley Newall said: “Tenbury United has provided local children with a safe, fun and social space for many years.

“Our competitive teams and training sessions offer a great opportunity for youngsters to stay physically active and learn about the importance of teamwork and the training tops give our players a real sense of pride every time they pull them on.”

John Garbutt, chairman of the Kingspan, added: “Having the right kit is fundamental to the enjoyment of any sporting activity.

“We are very happy to be able to provide this funding to Tenbury United and hope the kits will provide further encouragement for the young people to continue to pursue a healthy lifestyle.”
