TENBURY seized control of their promotion dream having taken top spot in Midlands Five West (North) with a 34-0 win at Warley.
Callum Spires, Greg Powell, Craig Parkes, Lawson Thomas and James Martyn-Smith scored the tries and captain Ed Gough weighed in with three conversions and a penalty.
The Palmer’s Meadow outfit have just one match to play at fourth-placed Aldridge, still in contention for the top two themselves, on April 8 but could be guaranteed promotion before that.
Second-placed Greyhound, five points behind Tenbury with a game in hand, host Warley on March 25. Market Drayton are level with Greyhound and play their extra fixture at home to Chaddesley Corbett on the same day.
Greyhound and Market Drayton play each other on the final day but as things stand, Tenbury still need to beat Aldridge to be sure of going up.
At the sharp end of Midlands Three West (North) Cleobury Mortimer remain second after beating Willenhall 33-7.
Niall Salisbury, Jack Titley, captain Daran Chard, Tom Spinney and Will Forbes-Lee all scored Church Stretton beat Bishop’s Castle & Onny Valley 25-0 in a reversed home fixture to leapfrog their derby rivals out of the Midland Four (West (North) relegation places.
