NEW recruit Dan Crowther rattled home a debut hat-trick as Ludlow Colts ended a four-match winless streak in eventful fashion against Kington Reserves.

Both teams were reduced to 10 men at the SBS Stadium but Colts held on for three precious points thanks to the heroics of former-Orleton man Crowther.

It was a lively affair from the outset with man-of-the-match Jack Francis playing in Dan Griffiths one on one but his lob cannoned back off the crossbar.

Kington striker Ricky Dyer received his marching orders for a second bookable offence just 20 minutes in before Crowther notched his first.

Ludlow continued to press without finding a way through before half-time but they did not have to wait long for the second.

Three minutes after the restart, Crowther doubled his side's advantage from a teasing Kieran Edwards delivery to seemingly put Colts in complete control but they were not to have it all their own way.

With Colts having spurned more decent openings, Kington burst through the middle and Oliver Rogers fired past the exposed Greg Knight to halve the deficit.

The rattled hosts wobbled for a while but regained their two-goal lead on the break with Edwards again teeing up Crowther to net from 18 yards.

Ludlow kept probing but a moment of hesitancy allowed Rogers to nip in for a second late on and the task of clinging on was made more difficult when Scott Guilbert received a second yellow card for kicking the ball away five minutes from time.
