A controversial late goal denied Ludlow HC 1st a share of the spoils at Market Drayton, the home side snatching a 4-3 victory at the death of this West Midlands Premier Division clash.

James Pratt opened the scoring following some good work down the right and Ludlow then doubled their lead when Matt Blount rounded off a quickfire counter attack down the opposite flank.

The visitors continued to dominate going into the second half only to be undone by a disputed Drayton goal which appeared to unsettle the leaders.

Two more goals edged the home side ahead before Ludlow settled once again with Josh Westacott scoring from the edge of the D.

With barely a minute left, a Drayton ball from outside the area rolled into the goal and the umpires surprising allowed the effort to stand.

A depleted Ludlow 2nd, who played with just ten men throughout, went down 3-2 at home to Pershore, Jake Watts and Josh Rowson on target following well-worked short corners.

And first half goals from Emma Hillhouse and youngster Matthew Wreyford helped Ludlow 3rd to a 2-1 win at Old Wulfs.
