THE Leach boys took the starring roles to lift Cleobury Mortimer to a fourth win in five games in Midlands 3 West (North).
Tom Leach dotted down one of two tries and brother David kicked both conversions and three penalties for a personal 13-point haul as Cleobury won 23-8 on the road at Burntwood.
It leaves them five points behind second-placed Ludlow, with a game in hand, and the best points difference in the division.
Playing with the wind in the first half Cleobury had to soak up a lot of early pressure before breaking away for David Leach to kick a penalty.
They then added a pushover try from Jack Bills, with Leach landing both the conversion and another penalty.
A third penalty before the break that bounced off both posts saw Cleobury 16-0 up at the break, and they had to face the elements in the second period.
Burntwood managed a drop goal to register a score ten minutes into the second half but they failed to use the wind to gain extra territory. Instead Cleobury managed to move through the phases to score a try from Tom Leach, though Burntwood had the last say with a consolation try in the closing stages.
