LUDLOW twice came from behind before losing out 3-2 in a friendly at Hereford.

They travelled a man short, but showed their resilience to level on two occasions, first with a deflected effort from a Sam Pratt cross to Jake Watts, and then from Gavin Hughes following a short corner.

The ten men started to tire but it wasn’t until three minutes from the end that Hereford finally grabbed a winner.

A young 2nd XI secured a 1-1 draw with ten-man Hereford at Leominster. They fielded several 3rd XI players and were able to gently introduce them.

Tom Moseley and Tom Aston went close in the first half, with Ludlow rarely under pressure as Josh Rowson and Jack Prescott swept up any danger.

The second half saw Rowson put Ludlow ahead but Hereford quickly responded to share the spoils.

*LUDLOW/WENLOCK Ladies suffered an 11-0 league defeat at Telford and Wrekin. Short of players, including a goalkeeper, they were 8-0 adrift at the break as captain Karen Hadley and Leahana Parry elected to play a half each as “kicking back”.

The new team performed much better in the second half, with Hadley voted oppositions’ player of the match and players’ player of the match for an inspiring performance.
