CLEE Hill veteran Mark Harrington celebrated a career milestone when he compiled his maiden century for the club - after 45 years of trying.
The 62-year-old carpenter, who first played for the club when he was a fresh-faced 17-year-old, finally scaled the magical three-figure barrier in Sunday’s friendly win over Kinlet.
He opened the batting and reached his hundred with a not-so-quick single in the 39th over of the Clee Hill innings, carrying his bat to finish on exactly 100 not out in a total of 246-5 off 40 overs.
Kinlet were then bowled out for 243 to give Clee Hill a narrow three-run victory.
