FORMER Tenbury skipper Will Gough will play his rugby for Malvern in Midlands 2 West (South) in the 2015-16 season.

The 23-year-old, who captained Tenbury last season as they finished bottom of Midlands 4 West (North), has decided to move on and has been replaced as skipper by his brother Edward.

Gough, who also plays cricket for Ludlow, said: “I think the time is right to challenge myself and that is the only reason I have left Tenbury.

“I have been at Tenbury six years, they are my local club and I have a lot of time for everyone there. There has been no fall-out and when I told them I was thinking of moving, I was very impressed with the way they dealt with it. I have such a high regard for the club.”

He added: “Hopefully I can win a place in the team at Malvern and help them win some games next season.”

Meanwhile, Ludlow will face Evesham in the first round of next season’s RFU Senior Vase.

The Linneymen will have home advantage on October 3, while Clee Hill and Cleobury Mortimer have been given byes to the second round which will be played on November 28.

In the RFU Junior Vase, Tenbury travel to Aston OE, Bishop’s Castle have home advantage against the Hereford-based Greyhound while Church Stretton travel to Essington in Wolverhampton.
