LUDLOW Ladies are hoping to tap into the euphoria of England finishing third in the recent Women’s World Cup - and beating Germany in the process.

They have launched a recruitment drive for next season after agreeing to return to the Ludlow Football Stadium.

At the start of last season Ludlow Ladies struggled to find a ground to play on, but thanks to Lacon Childe school, Cleobury Leisure Centre and Cleobury Social Club they managed to complete the campaign, despite starting it a little late.

This year, however, they are back at Ludlow Football Stadium for both training and matches - and they are looking for new players for the 2015-16 season.

So anyone inspired by the England Women’s performance in Canada who is looking for a fun sport and want to join the only women's team within a 20-mile radius of Ludlow, are welcome to join the other players for training on Wednesday evenings, starting next week (July 22) at 7pm at AFC?Ludlow’s ground.

Games are played on a Sunday afternoon and interested parties should contact either manager/coach Kevin Powell on 07811 441263 or Lorna James on 07792 001852.

They can also be contacted via their Facebook page - just search for Ludlow Ladies Football Club.
