DAVE Cooper was left frustrated after his AFC Ludlow side failed to pick up three points at St Martins that he felt they deserved.

The two teams shared the spoils in a 2-2 draw in West Midlands (Regional) League Division 1, but Cooper felt the win was there for the taking.

"I know St Martins are a good side and I’m happy that we played well but I’m frustrated we didn’t win," said Cooper.

AFC Ludlow got off to a poor start and were trailing early on.

"We were all over the place at the start," said Cooper.

"Once we went a goal down I shuffled the pack and we started to look better.”

Ludlow threatened to respond quickly but were denied by the St Martins goalkeeper who made two decent saves to keep his side in front at the break.

However he was unable to stop a Danny Gower header from hitting the back of the net 10 minutes into the second half, as Ludlow levelled.

The away side took he lead with 30 minutes left on the clock thanks to substitute Nathan Hodge, but with just five minutes to go St Martins broke through a poorly timed offside trap.

“We dominated the game and should have put the result to bed long before they equalised," said Cooper.
