LUDLOW face their toughest task yet this weekend when they aim to travel to a Bridgnorth side who have won all 13 league games this season.

Bridgnorth's 100 per cent record sees them ten points clear at the top of Midlands Two West (North) ahead of Saturday's clash.

"We will give it our best shot," said club spokesman, Phil Norton.

"We will have to defend well and that is what we have been working on.

"We can score tries, but we have got to stop the opposition scoring them.

"It's in our hands to stay in this league. We got thumped against Bridgnorth at home but played very well in the first half."

Ludlow warmed up for the game with a narrow 25-19 defeat at home to Veseyans in a topsy turvy clash which saw them pick up a bonus point.

The home side began well but conceded a try out wide before a Will Norton scored a penalty to get Ludlow on the scoreboard.

However, a mistake fro kick-off led to Veseyans running in a second try. Norton again hit back with a penalty before Veseyans themselves kicked a penalty to lead 13-6 at the break.

In the second half Ludlow managed to get onto level terms when Mark Williams dived in between the posts with Norton converting.

An even spell of rugby followed before Veseyans scored a converted try of their own ahead of Norton scoring another penalty.

Ludlow then began to take control of the game before a missed tackle resulted in Veseyans running in another try. Ludlow rounded off the scoring with a late penalty.

"We got a bonus point out of it," said Norton.

"It's in our hands to stay in this league. The bottom two (Stafford and Tamworth) have got to play each other yet."
