CLEOBURY Ladies' volleyball team bounced back from consecutive defeats by recording an encouraging 3-0 win against Tettenhill in West Midlands League Division One.

With solid passing and great setting from Emma Gallagher, Cleobury stormed into a comfortable 2-0 lead.

The third set was a little closer, but Cleobury held their nerve to come away with the win, with Gallagher and Rosie Millichamp being named joint players of the match.

It has been a mixed season for the ladies, who opened their campaign in October.

Gemma Beddows and Sarah Walker both have university commitments this campaign but Cleobury still have a strong starting six.

Their season got underway with a comfortable 3-0 win over the University of Birmingham, which included perfect line hitting from Lynsey Rankin and middles from Charlotte Froggett'Keable.

Their second match saw them lose 3-2 to Telford after being 2-0 up before going down 3-1 at Tamworth.

The ladies' second team meanwhile sit comfortably in mid-table in West Midlands League Division Two.

Their first game saw them lose 3-1 to West Midlands Fire Service before going down 3-0 against Persian Phoenix.

A 3-1 loss to Wombourne followed before they beat their second team 3-0 thanks to some fantastic setting and hitting from Dana Brookes and Sophie Chance.

The men's team, meanwhile, are riding high at the top of West Midlands League Division Two following five wins from their six games.

Their only loss of the season came at the hands of Rugby, who beat them 3-1.
