CLEOBURY Mortimer once again put in an outstanding performance to extend their lead at the top of Midlands Four West (North).

Josh Phillips and Paul Hulland both grabbed two tries each in a 74-5 demolition against second bottom Greyhound.

Dave Leach, Simon Boyd, Tom Leach, Sam Sutton and Ben Howman also went over, with two penalty also awarded.

Eight of the tries were also converted by Dave Leach to secure Cleobury's second biggest win of the season and with it take them past the 400 point mark.

"With the changes we were putting in place, I was maybe a little bit apprehensive about the result down here, but I argue with the final score," said Bache.

"The game we play is based on everybody getting their hands on the ball and they stepped up to the mark and it was another outstanding performance."

Alex Howman, Matt Walford, Dave Shorter and Ed Lewis were just some of the players that were missing for Cleobury.

But Paul Hulland was once again outstanding at number eight, while Cleobury's front five dominated the scrums.

"Having Paul Hulland is a big difference and with his coaching, you can see his influence by talking to the referee and the players," said Bache.

"He is a big bonus for us.

"You also can't argue with the front five - they were outstanding and dig in with the scrums giving us the platform."

In the same league, Bishops Castle will be hoping for a home win against bottom-of-the-table Tenbury this Saturday.

Castle are fourth in the table but suffered a disappointing 15-12 defeat against Telford Hornets last time out.

"We were missing about nine first teams but were still gutted about the result," said Bishops Castle captain Jack Holloway.

"In the first 10 minutes we missed some tackles then we got into the game.

"But we fell short."

Andrew Dale and Ed Roberts got Castle's tries, with Henry Wilson converting the first one.

Clee Hill captain Matt Bowen conceded his team were outclassed by Handsworth following a 70-14 thumping in Midlands Three West (North).

Craig Breakwell got all of Clee's points.

"It was harder than I thought it was going to be and we never got into the game in the first half," said Bowen.

"In the second half we played a lot better, so the scoreline could have been a lot better."

Church Stretton maintained their 100 per cent record in Midlands Five West (North) with a 19-7 away win at Essington.

The home side led 7-0 but Stretton fought back via a Dan Harris try, which Tim Downes converted.

Downes also added kicked over four penalties.
