NEWCASTLE were thrashed 4-0 by rivals Knighton Town Reserves in Mid Wales League (South).

Knighton completely controlled the first half and went into the half-time break 2-0 up.

Newcastle's Carl Price was the only player to really trouble the visitors' defence.

John Goodridge changed the formation at half-time, but that did little to change Newcastle's fortunes and Knighton went further ahead from a superb free-kick,

Newcastle had chances to get back into the game but Knighton sealed their fate in the dying seconds.

This Saturday, Newcastle travel to league leaders Hay St Mary Reserves.

Norbury got back to winning ways with a 8-1 rout against Masonic in Greenhous Shrewsbury and District Sunday League Division One.

Masonic only fielded 10 players and Norbury took advantage when Wayne Griffiths opened the scoring.

Man-of-the-match John Hudson doubled the lead before adding another goal.

Griffiths then converted a penalty before sealing his hat-trick before the interval.

Griffiths grabbed his fourth goal after the break before Hudson got his hat-trick.

Reece Thomas completed the rout when he picked the ball up at left-back and showed good pace to beat the offside trap and poke the ball past the goalkeeper.
