AFC Ludlow 3 Hereford Lads Club 0

AFC Ludlow boss Dave Cooper knows that the team's away form will be vital this season if they are to have any chance of getting promoted.

Cooper's boys travel to Team Dudley this Saturday in West Midlands League Division One following a resounding 3-0 home win against Hereford Lads Club last weekend.

AFC Ludlow have only played three away games in the league, which have seen mixed results.

The Showtime Stadium side have beaten top-of-the-table Bromyard Town , but that was on the back of losing 4-1 against strugglers Wyrley.

But they have got happy memories of Team Dudley because they sealed the West Midlands League Division Two title there last season.

"The Wyrley game still knocks me because I was so disappointed with it," said Cooper.

"We need to sort our form out away from home and play like we did at Bromyard.

"We have only played three away games, with the other win coming against Penncroft.

"We beat Team Dudley to win the league last season, so we know that is a tough place to go to.

"But it is nice to get back to winning ways after losing to Shenstone."

A brace of headers from Marian Jusko and a goal from his brother Martin secured the win for AFC Ludlow against a useful Lads Club side.

But Cooper was left bemoaning a disallowed goal from Jake Price when the score was 2-0.

"The referee pulled the ball back for a free-kick, so there was no advantage to us," said Cooper.

"I thought he was the last man, but the referee only booked him.

"To be fair, the referee did later hold his hands up and said he got it wrong, which you don't normally get."

Marian Jusko opened the scoring when he out-jumped Lads Club goalkeeper Steve Bell to head the ball in.

Within 25 minutes, it was 2-0 through another Jusko header.

Aaron Dovey had two great chances to increase the lead, but it was left to Martin Jusko with 10 minutes to go.

Captain Jack Beaumont will be missing this Saturday though due to other commitments, while Luke Hicks is still out injured.

But Cooper is happy with the squad he has available.

"I have got competition for places, which is a good thing," said Cooper.
