AFC Ludlow boss Dave Cooper was frustrated once again after seeing his side lost 1-0 to Shenstone Pathfinders in West Midlands League Division One.

The Showtime Stadium side went into the game on the back of a 1-0 away success at league leaders Bromyard Town.

But an own goal, plus a missed penalty 20 minutes from the end, left Cooper cursing his luck.

He now hopes his team can bounce back in style this Saturday when they entertain Hereford Lads Club.

"We are back down with a bump considering we beat Bromyard," said Cooper.

"There were a lot of deflated lads in the dressing room after the game.

"But we didn't have a plan b when we went behind.

"We had chances in the first half, but we didn't create many in the second half.

"The missed penalty was key though.

"We have now missed three penalties this season.

"Luke Hicks is down to take our penalties, but he was suspended against Bromyard, so my son Keanu took, it, and came off injured last Saturday.

"Therefore, Dale Hodge stepped up, but the keeper saved it.

"If we had scored it, we could have gone on and won the game, but it knocked us."

Cooper played in goal after regular stopped Ian Havard was unavailable.

"I was nervous for the first time, which was weird, because normally I'm not," said Cooper.

"But I did ok and was quite happy with my performance."

The decisive goal last Saturday came 10 minutes into the second half when Simon Ball put the ball in his own net following a drilled cross from Shenstone Pathfinders.

Cooper said Ball could do nothing about it.

"The guy really drilled it and Simon had two players behind him," said Cooper

"We have got Lads Club on Saturday and no one can complain if they're not in the side.

"We have got to get back to scoring goals, which will hopefully happen this Saturday."

AFC Ludlow are also out of the TJ Vickers Premier Challenge Cup following a 2-1 extra-time defeat against Whitchurch Alport last Wednesday.

Jamie Hammonds scored AFC Ludlow's goal.
