NORMAN Stalker was delighted to pick up his first league win as Ludlow coach as the Linneymen demolished Tamworth in the second half.

Stalker's men were staring at another defeat in Midlands Two West (North) when they went into the half-time break.

But they turned in a ruthless performance during the second half to win 44-12.

"It was a very good win, especially as in the first 25 to 30 mins we were absolutely awful," said Stalker.

"It was our first home league game and there was anxiety about the team and we were rushing things.

"We slowly settled won and there was a relaxing flow about our game.

"They were then a completely different side in the second half and we played some very nice rugby and ended we demolished them.

"Will Armitage was outstanding and was the most productive player on the pitch.

"The team played the way they wanted to and I was a very happy coach to come away with a win."

Ludlow were 12-6 down at half-time, with Will Armitage converting three penalties for the Linneymen.

But Stalker's team rolled over Tamworth during the second half, with Rhys Evans Evans helping himself to two tries.

"Dan Romeo is out with a hamstring injury, but the players will want to give them a good game."
