TWO professionals have swung into Cleobury Mortimer Golf Club (CMGC).

Rob Grier and Sam Pain will be coaching the next generation of stars and offering their expertise.

Grier turned professional in 1993 and has coached European Tour players.

He worked with Simon Dunn and helped him to third place at the Asha Tour Volvo in China and saw Rachel Jennings finish runner-up in the rookie of the year category her first season on tour.

Grier currently coaches both men and ladies' teams in Staffordshire and is head professional and partner at Stone driving range.

Meanwhile, Pain, who is a former CMGC champion, worked for two summers at the prestigious Schonenberg in Switzerland as assistant professional and played in the Swiss amateur championships.

Pain turned professional in 2013 and is currently doing a post-graduate diploma and Master of Science in Sports Coaching at the University of Birmingham.

Both will offer custom fitting either at the club or

"I am delighted to be joining Cleobury and feel it very important myself and Sam meet as many people as possible," said Grier.

"Cleobury is a fantastic set-up with the 27 holes and loges on-site, making it always a busy and vibrant place.

"We firmly believe there is massive potential to grow the coaching locally and make Cleobury the one-stop destination for coaching, custom fitting and of course golf."

The coaches will be offering a free 30 minute lesson to all five and seven-day members up until October 12.

Elsewhere, Amy Millward, who is set to turn professional next year, has also joined the team.

She plays off a handicap of eight and is doing her PGA training at CMGC.

And 14-year-old Jack Severn was celebrating after shooting 39 points to win the Men's September Stableford.

Severn is one of the biggest talents at CMGC and has got his handicap down to seven.
