LUDLOW conceded more than 40 points for the second successive week in Midlands One West as they suffered a 44-22 reverse at mid-table Walsall.

And Cleobury Mortimer did little to suggest they could improve their basement position in Midlands Three West (North) when they were beaten 35-10 at Newcastle.

But Tenbury enjoyed a welcome return to form after their Midlands Four West (North) horror show last week at struggling Telford Hornets.

This time, the Palmer’s Meadow side travelled to Harborne and returned with a 31-12 success.

It was a good day, too, for Clee Hill who brushed aside visiting Barton-under-Needwood 24-3.

Bishops Castle, however, went down 24-5 at Five Ways Old Edwardians.

In Division Two of the West Midlands League, Tenbury United were beaten 2-0 at Team Dudley.

But Ludlow continued their promotion charge in the Mercian League, hammering visiting Allscott 6-0.

Ludlow are second in the table, two points off top spot but have five games in hand over leaders Church Stretton, who fanned their own promotion hopes by beating Oakengates Athletic 2-1.
