Brave defeat by Ludlow at home to Worcester but Tenbury still on course

LUDLOW came away with plenty of credit after going down by just eight points when they were beaten 29-21 by Midlands One West high-fliers Worcester Wanderers.

But it continues to be tough going for Cleobury Mortimer who have slipped to the bottom of Midlands Three West North after a 21-13 home defeat by Handsworth.

Tenbury continue to look like promotion contenders in Midlands Four West North after a crushing 46-5 against Five Ways Old Edwardians left them in third place in the table.

But it was not such a good day for the other sides in the section with Bishop’s Castle suffering a single-point reverse, 13-12 at Cannock, and Clee Hill being beaten 23-8 at second-placed Uttoxeter.

Tenbury United’s scheduled game at Malvern Rangers fell victim to the wet weather.

While AFC Ludlow moved a point closer to the top of the Mercian League after a 1-1 home draw with Shifnal United Reserves.
