Ryan hits target twice as revitalised United win at Black Country Rangers
Black Country Rangers 1 Tenbury United 3.
AFTER three weeks without a game, Tenbury's trip to Willenhall felt more like an early season fixture than an end-of-season game.
United played well and ran out worthy winners. With Adam Wilkes and Wes Burleigh cutting out any menace from the flanks, their defence looked solid throughout.
They had the better of the first half, but only had one goal to show for an industrious display. Ryan Morris and Duncan Palmer combined from a set-piece, playing the ball across the 18-yard box for Aaron Morris to score through a crowded penalty area.
The second period followed the same pattern. Ryan Morris raced through to score at the second attempt, after the keeper had saved his first shot.
The home side pounced on a rare mistake in defence to reduce the deficit five minutes later, but substitute Ross Oliver laid on the chance for Ryan Morris to secure the points with his second goal of the game.
l Woofferton maintained their challenge for the Hereford Times Herefordshire League Premier Division title with two wins.
On Saturday they beat visiting Hinton 4-0, with all the goals coming in the second half. After playing second fiddle to the city side in the first half, Woofferton went on to win comfortably after taking the lead through an own-goal minutes into the second period.
Danny Gower, Ben Apperley and Gary Mowen scored the other goals.
In midweek, Woofferton beat Pegasus Reserves 4-1 at Old School Lane. Danny Gower, an own goal, Ben Apperley and Justin Wheatley sealed the victory.
