Woofferton’s title hopes hit by early two-goal blast

Colwall Rangers 4 Woofferton 3.

WOOFFERTON'S Hereford Times Herefordshire League Premier Division title hopes received a setback at fourth-placed Colwall.

Dan Herbert scored twice early on and it could have been worse as, between the two goals, keeper Dave Cooper made a fine save in a one-on-one situation.

Chris Breakwell ran on to an astute pass from Ben Apperley to reduce the deficit, and he scored again minutes after Jamie Welch had restored Rangers' cushion, to leave the half time score 3-2.

Soon after the restart Breakwell was sent off for a second caution, and with defender Alan Hogg also injuring a foot in a heavy tackle, the visitors' flow was disrupted. They kept battling in spite of Craig Kitchener heading home a fourth goal for Rangers.

Woofferton set up a final flurry when Dan Gower converted the rebound after Adam McTear had spilled Jamie Marsh's free kick.
