Kinsey’s goal is a rare success
Darlaston 1 Ludlow Town 1
PRIOR to the game, Ludlow would have been happy to come away with a point but in the end were unhappy that they didn't win.
But they battled hard on a sloping pitch with a poor surface and were twice denied by the home keeper late on.
The result leaves them in the top half of the West Midlands Premier table. They host Bustleholme on Saturday at 3pm to whom they lost 1-0 away early on.
Manager Chris Richards said: "Bustleholme was our worst away performance so far and we will be aiming to put that right. Since then we have been creating chances but not putting them away."
He added: "We are holding on to a place in the top half but we should be driving on. If we want to challenge the leaders, we need to be more clinical in our finishing."
Richards and joint manager Matt Burton are running the rule over several unnamed triallists to try and strengthen the squad."
Burton said: "Club captain Sean Parker (groin strain) was missing on Saturday and could be out for a couple of more weeks. On Saturday, we had six or seven chances to win the game but lacked composure in front of goal. We are aiming to put that right."
Darlaston scored the opening goal. It came from a corner headed in as the keeper came out to meet it.
Central midfielder Josh Kinsey scored the equaliser when he got his toe to a knockdown in a goalmouth scramble.
It was a rare goal for Kinsey whose last strike of any description was three years ago. He came to Ludlow from Hanwood United.
