Craig Breakwell penalty secures Clee Hill win over Uttoxeter

A LATE penalty from Craig Breakwell secured Clee Hill’s first win of the campaign and knocked Uttoxeter off top spot.

Hill skipper Matt Bowen was delighted with a man-of-the-match display from inside-centre Dan Romeo in Saturday’s low-scoring Midlands Four West (North) tussle.

“It was a very tight game and they were at the top of the league,” said Bowen.

Breakwell kicked the crucial penalty with 10 minutes remaining after the visitors had been punished for a high tackle.

“It was a tough kick and under a lot of pressure and Craig did very well,” said Bowen.

“Uttoxeter came to us and thought they were going to give us a beating. But it was our first league win of the season and we were very pleased.”
