Tenbury Ladies beat Ludlow in Worcestershire League hockey derby

A BRACE by Becky Gwilliam ensured her Tenbury Ladies team came out 5-3 winners against local rivals Ludlow in Worcestershire League Division One.

Tenbury stormed into a 3-0 lead by half-time through Emily Moseley, Gwilliam and Abi Thomas and added two further goals in the second-half through Gwilliam and Lindsey Aldridge-Bufton.

Ludlow hit back with two goals by Alice Oatham and one by her sister Rosie Oatham.

In men’s hockey, Ludlow ground out a battling 1-1 draw against Bromsgrove in Ener-G West Midland League Division Two, with James Pratt getting Ludlow’s goal.

James Parker opened the scoring for Ludlow 2nd, but it proved fruitless as Kingswinford battled back to win 2-1.

But there was better news for Ludlow 3rd in West Midlands North Fathom as they thrashed Tamworth 8-0 with Joe Hayward grabbing a hat-trick.

The other goals came from Alice Oatham (two), Charlie Lythe, Tom Crump and Shaun Dajavs.
