Church Stretton let lead slip at Dawley United

CHURCH Stretton let a two-goal lead slip at Dawley Town to draw 2-2.

Stretton took the lead from the penalty spot through Paul Smith and added a second through Adam Spellman on 65 minutes.

But a 25-yarder got Dawley back into the game on 70 minutes, with the equaliser coming with five minutes to go.

“It was a case of two points dropped as we were two-nil up with just 20 minutes to go,” said co-manager Joe Leask. “We have got to be disappointed with that. I thought we did enough to come away with three points.”

l Simon Bradley’s brace swept Woofferton Colts to a 4-0 win against Fownhope in the FW Peterson. George Piper and Jake Collett also scored for the Haynall Lane outfit. This weekend Steve Chadd’s first team travel to Kingstone to play Dore Valley in a league fixture and the Colts visit Wellington Colts in the Burghill Cup.
