Harrington and Beard's Flowfit Ludlow and District League doubles delight

The Ludlow Castle duo overcame team-mates Simon Lane and Dave Wilding in the semi-finals and then defeated Duncan Pressley and Roy Crowther in the final.

Defending champions and county duo, Wayne Rogers and Simon Parsonage were knocked out in the second round in the 28-team event at Ludlow Town Bowling Club.

Last year’s runners-up, Pressley and Crowther, led 7-6 in the final but trailed 15-9 within four ends. Harrington and Beard maintained the upperhand and triumphed 21-13.

The Flowfit Ludlow and District Bowls League thanked Ludlow Town Bowling Club for hosting the event, providing refreshments and producing a top bowling surface.

League secretary Steve Burmingham also thanked all the supporters and Fred Morrell for refereeing the competition.
