LUDLOW cricketer William Wood said he always dreamed of hitting a century - now he’s hit three hundreds in five weeks.

In-form Wood smashed 132 in Ludlow 3rd’s six-wicket win at Bomere Heath 3rd in Sunday’s Shropshire County League Division Five clash.

Ludlow’s first team also tasted victory, Australian bowler Chris Elliot snapping up 4-16 and hitting 16 not out in a three-wicket Premier Division win over Much Wenlock.

Louis Watkins’ men are fifth in the Premier Division table and round off their campaign with a home match against Albrighton this Saturday.

Simon Miles (64) and Jack Small (41) led the way in Ludlow 4th’s Division Six match at Ellesmere 2nd but the hosts edged home by two wickets with one ball remaining.

Kevin Boulton bagged 6-36 but Ludlow 2nd crashed to a 72-run home loss against Lilleshall 2nd in Reserve Division One.

Simon Palmer snapped up 5-51 as Bishop’s Castle romped to a seven-wicket Division Two victory over Acton Reynald at the Manor Ground.

In reply to Reynald’s 120 all out, Richard Plant (53) and Richard Fifield (36 not out) steered Castle home in 23 overs.

Jack Lines and David Golightly each bagged three wickets but Corvedale were shot out for 71 in a four-wicket defeat at Willey.

Richard Langford took 6-22 for Bishop’s Castle 2nd but his side crashed to a 39-run loss at Acton Reynald 2nd in Reserve Division Three. Rob Amphlett (4-44) and Frank Bury (3-18) helped dismiss Willey 2nd for 141 but Corvedale 2nd were skittled for 54.
