Skipper Sam Edwards leads Ludlow to Twenty20 success

LUDLOWskipper Sam Edwards celebrated double success in the Woodstock Cricket Company South Shropshire Twenty20 Cricket League.

He captained Ludlow to the title for the first time and, as well as collecting the crown, he carried off the leading bowler honour after taking nine wickets.

Ludlow’s Bryn Simmons snapped up the fielding award after bagging five stumpings and three catches.

Clee Hill’s Tim Goldthorp won the batting trophy after hitting 185 runs.

He played in three matches, scoring 95 not out, an unbeaten 90 and then a duck.

Ludlow defeated Shobdon in the final, while Ludlow Colts took third spot after overcoming Corvedale.

John Newsome, from Woodstock Cricket Company, presented the trophies.
