Tenbury 166 Himley 62.
SKIPPER Aaron Morris praised young all-rounder Alex Mason for a match-winning display on the opening day of the new cricket season.
Mason struck an impressive 74 and then bagged 5-31 as newly-promoted Tenbury made a great start to life in Worcestershire County League Division Three.
Captain Morris thought his side were 30 runs short of a winning total after being dismissed for 166 in 40 overs.
In addition to Mason’s knock, Jay da Costa (24) and Karl Baker (20) boosted Tenbury’s total.
With Edd Corfield missing with a back injury, Alex Mason, Sam Mason (2-5) and Morris (2-20) starred with the ball for Tenbury.
Da Costa also made three stumpings.
