Cleobury Morimer's Shorter family star in club open

THE Shorter family shone at Cleobury Mortimer’s latest open, teaming up to win the main prize.

Father Steve and his three sons Mark, Craig and Dave made sure that the Easter Open was a family affair.

The Shorters pipped Nick Pomeroy and his Tewksbury team, who finished second in a competition which attracted more than 130 golfers.

SAM Pain clinched Cleobury Golf Club’s first medal prize of the season - but admits he’s not yet up to scratch.

He shot a stunning 67 nett to take the Division One title and now has a busy month ahead.

Jack Pringle equalled the lowest gross of the day to record a 68 which sealed second spot in Division One.

Richard Daley carded 67 to take Division Two, while Roger Evans capped his competitive Cleobury comeback with second spot.
