Brimfield and Little Hereford Bowling Club open new season against Presteigne
9:53am Friday 13th April 2012 in Sport By Ian Morgan
BRIMFIELD and Little Hereford Bowling Club members begin their new season against visitors’ Presteigne next Tuesday (April 17).
They are officially opening the green on Sunday and then play five rink friendlies over seven days, starting against Presteigne.
Club chairman Jennie Cole said the club were converting an old rifle range into changing rooms. They are also excited about the club’s finals’ weekend on September 1 and 2.
Brimfield and Little Hereford’s vice-chairman, Derek Battersby, and greenkeeper Cyril Wait were among 25 members who rolled up their sleeves to spruce up the green.
The green was mowed, gullies cleared, windows cleaned, concrete surrounds treated, while members also assembled seats and tables.
The club’s crown team are now on the look-out for new players. For details, call Dave Evans on (01584) 711194 or log on to: brimfieldandlittleherefordbc.co.uk
