Bishop’s Castle Town beat Newcastle in Bishop’s Castle Cup quarter-final tie

ANDREW Green’s deflected strike gave Bishop’s Castle Town a 1-0 win over Newcastle in Sunday’s Bishop’s Castle Cup quarter-final tie.

Green was also on target on Saturday as Castle crashed to a 4-2 defeat at Brown Clee in the Shropshire County League Division One. Jake Cintra hit Castle’s other goal.

Tom Evans scored his maiden goal for Clee Hill in a 3-1 defeat at Allscott, also in Shropshire County League Division One.

Manager Wayne Whitbread played the full 90 minutes for the depleted bottom-club who trailed 3-0 at the break.

Bucknell recorded a 3-2 win over Hay St Mary’s to reach the final of the Pip Samuel (Electrical) Mid Wales South League Cup.

A brace from Adam Ray and a goal from Wayne Davies led Bucknell to their shock semi-final success.

Aaron Morris scored in Tenbury United’s 3-1 defeat at Ettingshall Park Farm in Saturday’s West Midlands League Division Two clash.

Tenbury slipped to a 1-0 defeat at Malvern Town Reserves on Monday.

Henri Harvey-Smith, Mark Boucker and Chris Patton hit the target in Tenbury Town’s 3-0 victory over Wolseley in Herefordshire League Division Two North.

Orleton Colts were thumped 9-0 at Wellington Colts in Division One, while Woofferton Colts’ Division Two North match with Burghill was postponed.

Manager Mark Griffiths and Luke Overton scored in Norbury’s 4-2 home defeat against Hope and Friar in the Shrewsbury and District Sunday League Division One.

Norbury’s players drew their positions out of a hat and it was Overton’s first goal in open play for a long time.

Daniel Jara scored for Tenbury Athletic in their 2-1 home defeat against Whitecross in the Herefordshire Sunday League Division One North.

Orleton’s Sunday side drew 4-4 in a thriller against HWX, also in Division One.

Sinkums lifted the Leintwardine Cup after a 6-0 triumph over Weobley on Good Friday.
