Burghill 1 Woofferton 7.
WOOFFERTON struck top-form to reach the quarter-final stage of the HFA Junior Cup, when they romped to a comprehensive win at lower-graded Burghill.
Christian Roberts dispossessed a home defender and looped his shot over the keeper to open the scoring in the second-minute.
Soon afterwards, Simon Bradley scored from the penalty spot after skipper Stu Skidmore was up-ended inside the box. Roberts scored from a diving header after Burghill had pulled a goal back, to leave the half-time score 3-1.
Roberts went on to double his tally, completing his hat-trick with a header, and followed up with a tap-in.
Bradley laid on a goal for full-back Dave Thomas, and then scored a second himself in added-time. Man-of-the-match Dan Wellsbury laid on two of the goals.
l A Grant Harris hat-trick and a penalty from Ashley Botwood secured the Hereford Times Herefordshire League Division 3 points for Tenbury Town in a scrappy but hard-fought 4-2 win against Relentless at Palmer’s Meadow.
Basement-club Relentless outplayed Town for much of the time.
James Williams, teed up Harris to open the scoring against the run of play, but then handled to give away a penalty.
