LUDLOW Golf Club’s Ladies Captain’s away day is always eagerly anticipated and this year a large group of ladies dodged the showers to enjoy a great day out at Bridgnorth Golf Club.

The format of the day was a three-ball Alliance competition, stableford format. The winning team on the day was immediate past captain, Rona Cobb, competitions secretary Gill Robertshaw and previous past captain Jenny Kelly who posted a winning score of 81 points.

The nearest-the-pin competition was almost a celebration for a hole in one from Celia Russell when her ball went over the hole to stop less than one foot away.

She was able to covert the drive into a birdie, giving her team a massive five points for the scorecard. Following the competition, the ladies enjoyed an excellent meal prior to the prize-giving ceremony.

LADIES’ CAPTAIN’S COMPETITION: 1. Rona Cobb, Gill Robertshaw and Jenny Kelly 81 pts, 2. Pam Bell,Jane Arnsby and Gloria  Myers 80 pts, 3. Rosemary Polley, Joyce Jones and Margaret Gosling 76 pts.
