Wellington 5 Ludlow Town 2.
A SPIRITED first-half rally by Ludlow Town was ultimately to no avail in their FTL Futbol West Midlands Premier Division visit to Wellington.
Seeking their first double of the season, Ludlow started strongly but were rocked back on their heels in the 11th minute when Wellington’s Price beat Anthony Prince with a brilliant header.
Within 35 seconds of the restart, the lead was doubled when Williams beat the goalkeeper with a fine chip.
It could have been a three-goal deficit if Williams had accepted a gilt-edged chance seven minutes later.
Ludlow fought back on 20 minutes when a header was intercepted by Dale Williams who rounded Wellington’s ‘keeper Priday to score clinically from a tight angle.
Town were level after 26 minutes when a well delivered through-ball from Jamie Russell was accepted by Dan Price who scored right-footed from the edge of the penalty area.
Wellington dominated after the break, however, to score three more goals.
