LUDLOW Hockey Club's junior section had a day to remember last Sunday, when they won three of the four sections at the Shropshire County Championships.
Their u-11 girls won their tournament at Shrewsbury, while the boys went one better at Telford where both the u-11s and the u-13s were crowned champions. The three sides will now represent Shropshire in the Midlands Area Finals at Cannock Hockey Club next month.
The Boys u-13 side played five, and won five during the competition. They beat Bridgnorth 2-0 in the final with goals from Dan Hillman and Joe Collins.
They beat Whitchurch 2-0 in the semi final, after wins over Bridgnorth (3-0), Thomas Telford School (1-0) and Telford (1-0) in the group stage.
The Girls u-11 side matched them. A goal from Georgina Morris gave them a narrow 1-0 win over Market Drayton in the final. They beat Baschurch (1-0) in the semis, after beating Moreton Hall (1-0), Market Drayton (2-1) and Wem (2-1) to qualify.
The Boys u-11 side were held to a 1-1 draw by Longden School in the group stage, but goals for Liam Wright and Tom Crump gave them a 2-0 win over the same opposition in the final.
