DEAN Holdsworth is one of the names being hotly linked to the vacant manager’s job at Hereford FC.

The Edgar Street club appointed Tim Harris as Head of Football yesterday but are still looking for someone to replace Peter Beadle in a new role of Head Coach.

The Hereford Times understands that Holdsworth, a former Wimbledon striker, has applied for the position and is being considered by the Bulls board.

Holdsworth succeeded Beadle as manager of Newport County in 2008 and has also managed Aldershot Town, Chelmsford Town and Brentwood Town.

Believed to be based in Droitwich, Holdsworth was also linked with a takeover bid of Worcester City earlier this year.

The Hereford Times has also been told that Lee Clark, the former Newcastle United midfielder and Birmingham City manager, is another name being considered by the Hereford FC board.

When Beadle was dismissed last week, Hereford FC said they hoped to have a new management team in place by the time the club hosted Truro City in the FA Cup. That match takes place on Saturday at Edgar Street.
