LUDLOW CC finished the Shropshire League Premier Division season in sixth place after a 44-run final-day win over Frankton.

Batting first, Ludlow slipped to 93-5 in the face of fine bowling from Stuart Lammie (3-50) and Richard Parry-Jones (3-57).

However, excellent knocks from Josh Williams (47) and William Wood – who hit two sixes in his 43 – plus an unbeaten 21 from Louis Watkins helped them recover to 211 all out.

In reply, Frankton opener Sam Owen (47) batted well but Williams (2-13) and Glen Whittaker (2-22) helped reduce the visitors to 83-5.

Dean Pirro (35) and skipper Mark Lammie (29) battled bravely but Joe Williams (3-14) and Mackenzie Swift (2-38) ensured Frankton were all out for 167.

An unbeaten 57 from Richard Mapp helped Ludlow seconds win by 27 runs at Willey. Ludlow posted 157-5 and Kate Brazier took 5-30 as the hosts all out for 131 in reply.

Ludlow thirds lost by three wickets to Willey (205-7) despite Simon Miles (85no) and skipper Scott Kemsley (62) helping them post 201-6.
